Trove suggests a maximum of 10 cards, however, I managed to fit 12 cards which included my 2 slightly thicker security swipe cards. When it came time to placing my cards in the wallet, the true challenge was pairing down the junk from the important must-have cards (which took me longer than I would have liked). If you like to carry a wad of cash around like a mobster, this might not be your cup of tea. The bills fold up nicely and stay securely in place. This is truly handy because few minimal wallets give you that kind of versatility. First, the wallet has three different areas to store cards, cash, or photos. The Trove wallet pretty much does everything that they says it will. We’ve been fed up with this constant hoarding and threw away our existing wallets as soon as the Trove arrived and never looked back. We’ve found that when we’ve had large wallets, we’d stuff them full of items we didn’t need. It houses some damn important stuff like our license, credit cards, memberships, and cash. Like every other guy, our wallet is as important as any of our other gadgets. If this hasn’t started to sway your opinion, keep on reading. When it came to handling the wallet, it literally felt like next-to-nothing bolstering the whole minimal wallet appeal. We initially had doubts about the feel of the elastic, but we were proven wrong as it also feels and looks like a high quality Italian material. The leather is made from two layers of bonded full grain Italian veg-tanned leather which has a great feel to it, although we would have preferred it to be a tad thicker. For starters, the materials are high quality. For such as simple idea, you can tell the designers put a lot of thought into the functionality and execution. Our initial reaction was, wow, simplicity is truly appealing. We received the little wallet called the Trove in a simple no-thrills package. Four months have passed and we’ve been putting it through its paces, and let me tell you, this wallet doesn’t disappoint. With that in mind, we reached out to the fellows at Trove wallets to see whether we could truly test this baby out. It was a kickstarter project that was well on its way to being funded, and we could see why. We were first introduced to the Trove wallet when we profiled them on our site. Maybe they are, or maybe they aren’t, but I could never see a smart phone totally replacing my wallet. Over an extended period of usage, I did wish that the leather could be thinner, but it still has been great in my front pocket without showing much bulge. With all the latest gadgets offered for your phone, you might just think wallets are slowly on the decline. I think this TROVE Wallet works really well and is definitely unique with its three compartments for cards, cash, etc. ![]() While I like this wallet a lot, the leather scratches pretty easily, but that’s not always a bad thing! Leather is supposed to age and build character over time, but I did stop breathing for a second when I saw a noticeable scratch in the middle. While this closeup may not look so slim, I can’t imagine trying to carry all these cards with a traditional wallet in my front pocket. With a lot of cards like this and a single $20 bill folded in quarters, the wallet keeps everything together in a compact rectangular form factor. While the main middle section is for the cards, TROVE also has additional two slots where you can put cash, memory stick, and anything flat from the bottom flaps. Take a look at how the wallet holds up with different number of cards. I personally like the look of it with three cards the best, but I always need to carry more like six or so. You can see how the wallet looks with three, six, and nine cards. I don’t always carry all the cards I need but time to put this wallet to a test with many cards! You can see the stitchings are done pretty nicely and it looks to be well crafted. You can tell that it’s a real leather because it gives off a pleasant leather smell.įlipping the wallet inside out, you can see a nice branding of TROVE. “Italian vegetable tanned leather” huh, fancy. I chose this black and brown color for a classic look, and it arrived simply with the wallet like this. It’s worth noting that this wallet is made and ships from England, UK, so those in US or elsewhere might take a bit longer to get one – but it’s worth the wait. I’ve been using this “Cinnamon” one with black & brown combination for months now and it’s been one of my favorite minimalistic wallets so far! Made in England with a nice sheet of leather and elastic band, it comes in many choice of colors. TROVE Wallet is a fashionable slim wallet for those who appreciate thin profile in the pocket with a hint of leather smell. ![]()
